Revamped and open to the public in 1999, Tempe Town Lake has been evolving and expanding ever since. With over five miles of walking and biking paths, children’s playground and splash pad, a marina and docks – there is always something to do and see year-round. Town Lake Condos Get you Near the Action
Condos at Tempe Town Lake are right in the heart of the city’s activities. Of course there is the well-known Mill Avenue just blocks away, offering great restaurants, bars, shops and nightlife. Tempe Beach Park plays host to all sorts of events throughout the year. Because the lake gives a perfect backdrop to Fireworks, it hosts a popular 4th of July event with music and food to complement the evening. New Years Eve is a huge event in the area as well. The park has also become a hot spot for running and triathlon races, including the famed Ironman that tests athletes’ endurance every November, sending many to championship events across the country. And what would a city lake be without the parades, regattas and boat races? The Arizona State University crew team can also be seen (and heard) practicing in the mornings.
A Birds Eye View
One of the best ways to take in all the action and get spectacular views of both the lake and the surrounding valley is to live UP, in one of the high rises along the lake. There are several developments that boast stunning, panoramic views. Edgewater at Hayden Ferry (shown above) is an eight-story tower on the south edge of the lake. With only 80 luxury residences and floor-to ceiling windows, residents with north facing condos get unfettered views of the lake and the landscape beyond. Right next to Edgewater is Bridgeview, which has some penthouses with spectacular views and plenty of square feet for those looking for the ultimate in luxury and space.
At the east end there is Northshore at Tempe Town Lake. The unique u-shaped building architecture gives the 134 homes the best possible views of the lake to the south and Papago Park to the north. Low-rise Options
While the amenities of high rises are often worth their cost, there are also some low rise buildings at Tempe Town Lake that are a little more affordable while still offering nice community amenities and a great lakeside location. Regatta Pointe includes single level condos, multi-level townhomes and live-work units on the southwest side of the lake, near Tempe Center for the Arts. This gated community is still within blocks of the lake and Mill Avenue. Some units on the north side feature lake views. Or if you’re looking for an added urban touch, the loft-style condos in 525 Town Lake (shown above) have mostly two bedroom multi-level residences with a handful of live-work units sitting right on 1st Street. Only a few of these low rise condos have a lake view, and they are often offered at a premium.
